Permanent Collections & Archives
Our Permanent Collections & Archives support the mission of the Heart Mountain Wyoming Foundation and contain 2D and 3D artifacts and objects, rare books, archival content in multiple formats, and some reference material. Everything on exhibit in the Interpretive Center is considered part of our permanent collection, aside from the traveling exhibits in the Ford Foundation Special Exhibit Area.
Education and Reference Collections
The Education and Reference Collections play a vital role in helping us fulfill the mission of the Heart Mountain Wyoming Foundation through making select material and artifacts available for interactive use by our visitors, researchers, and education programs. Some library materials are available for short-term check out.
These collections originate from a variety of sources: donated material that does not fit the scope of our permanent collections, items given expressly for the education and reference collections, non-precious duplicate material already represented in the permanent collection, and non-precious ephemera.
Educators: suggested readings, downloadable curriculum and activities, and information about field trips, site visits and off-site presentations, and requests for school kits are available on our Education page.
