Japanese New Year and Mochi Tasting

New Year is the most important holiday in Japan, and mochi, soft rice cakes, are one of the most important parts. Come to Heart Mountain to learn about how Japan celebrates the new year, and try out several different types of mochi to celebrate 2025!

Sake and Heart Mountain

Sake, or rice wine, is more than just a drink. Haruka will talk about the history and cultural meaning of sake in Japan and share stories of how people made sake at Heart Mountain. Learn about the different types of sake and let’s Kampai together!

Chirashi Sushi Bowl Cooking

March is when girls all over Japan celebrate Hina Matsuri, or the Doll Festival. Families make a colorful meal called chirashi-zushi for the festival. Try out making this special type of sushi and learn about seasonal events in Japan.

Ikebana Flower Arrangement
